How to Undelete Files - Step 2
The second step of file undelete is to download an undelete program to get back your deleted files. Windows system may use FAT or NTFS file system. File system a a method of storing and organzing files and folders on the disk. Most undelete tool on the market supports both FAT and NTFS file systems, but some may just support one of the file system. Mac OS X uses a different file system called "HFS". CD/DVD have a different file system (ISO 9660 or UDF). Linux uses file systems including "EXT3", "EXT4" and more. So before you download and use the undelete utilty, make sure it supports your file system.
Using Undelete Software Summary:
- Search and find an undelete for your computer. In case you use a Windows 7/8/10/11, find a Windows Undelete software for your computer (WinUndelete from www.winundelete.com). Or if you use a Mac or Linux system, find a corresponding undelete program.
- Download and install the software to a different partition or a different disk (*important) instead of the disk of your deleted files. Some undelete software manufacturers may have a direct use executive file and it does not require a installation. It is recommended.
- Launch the undelete program
